Theatre Memphis

Community Theatre, at it's finest, is one, big volunteer community. Everyone you see on the stage, everyone you don't see behind the stage and everyone working front of house (i.e. ushers and greeters) at Theatre Memphis are volunteers. As many as 750 volunteers a year make ALL the things happen at Theatre Memphis. 

 With an open-door policy, we hold open auditions that are publicly advertised. Our Outreach and Education Department is taking theatre out into to the community with educational theatrical programming as well as mentorship and adult learning opportunities as well as in house mentorship programs such as Tech Academy at Theatre Memphis (a free mentorship program for ages 13 to 19 - see our website for more info)

As a community theatre which has entertained our patrons for over 100 years, Theatre Memphis strives to make an environment that is inclusive and welcoming to all. From greeting patrons at the front door to conducting educational workshops in the community to celebrating the hundreds of our volunteers with a year-end party, all the efforts are geared toward making Theatre Memphis an open and safe place to experience live theatre and social interaction as a participant or audience member.
