Who We Are
Memphis Urban League Young Professionals (MULYP) is a service-oriented leadership organization designed to support the objectives of the National Urban League, Memphis Urban League and National Urban League Young Professionals. Our mission is to promote the development of young professionals, ages 21 to 40, in the Memphis area and to serve our affiliate through social and community action.
What We Do
Our empowerment platform includes seven main areas:
- Financial Literacy and Empowerment
- The Financial Literacy & Empowerment Committee implements programming that provides educational awareness surrounding financial health ranging from: personal finance & wealth management, homeownership, general healthy consumer habits as well as development and entrepreneurship.
- Youth Mentoring and Development
- The Youth Mentoring & Development Committee focuses on the development of the mentoring programs, general youth development and education development.
- Civic Engagement and Advocacy
- The Civic Engagement & Advocacy Committee develops programs to ensure that MULYP membership and the community-at-large are informed and educated on political issues that affect their lives and communities.
- Personal and Professional Development
- The Personal and Professional Development Committee facilitates the personal and professional development of members and coordinates networking opportunities.
- Health Literacy and Advocacy
- The Health Literacy & Advocacy Committee implements programming that provides educational awareness surrounding health, inclusive of mind, body and spiritual health and works to establish community partnerships to continue to seek more viable access to quality and affordable health care solutions for our communities.
- Community Service & Outreach
- The Community Service & Outreach Committee develops events and partnerships that foster community service of MULYP & community members.
- Social & Cultural Events
- The Social and Cultural Events Committee coordinates social and cultural activities for MULYP.
