Volunteer at Tom Lee’s Mississippi River Gumption Revival Lantern Parade!
Join Memphis River Parks for one of the most magical nights on the Memphis riverfront — the first-ever Tom Lee’s Mississippi River Gumption Revival Lantern Parade! We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help bring this celebration to life on Monday, September 1 at Tom Lee Park!
Date: Monday, September 1
Time: 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM (4-hour shift)
Meeting Location: Beale Street Landing (251 Riverside Drive)
Volunteer Roles Available:
- Greeters & Info Table – Welcome guests, hand out lantern lights, and share event info.
- Friends of Puppets – Walk alongside our giant lantern puppets in the parade, assist puppeteers, and engage with the crowd.
- Parade Marshals – Help with parade flow, keep spectators safe, and guide participants along the route.
- Sunset Canopy Event Support – Run merch tables, assist with games, and keep the fun going at the post-parade party.
- Park Sweep Crew – Keep our park beautiful before, during, and after the event
