From Chetna: For clarity into why these events are being held – a close member of my family has been diagnosed with cancer and they need a bone marrow transplant. To get a 100% match this can be 1 in 10,000 or even greater – it is not easy. When we learned this, we realized that there are 1000’s of individuals out there that are looking for a donor and the only way they can get support is if we build the registry with as many people who are willing to be a donor. These donors may not be a match today but someday they could be. Awareness and willingness to support is key.
The two events my family is hosting is during Holi Events in our community as this will draw a large volume of people for us to engage.
