Mr. Chris Tappen with Union Avenue Baptist Church (2181 Union Ave, Memphis, TN 38104) is asking for several volunteers for this year's "Night to Shine" Event, hosted in partnership with the Tim Tebow Foundation. Below is a description and his request:
We’re putting the call out to all our Memphis friends and neighbors! Union Avenue Baptist Church (UABC) is hosting this year's Night to Shine Event sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation, and we need volunteers to help make this night unforgettable!
For those of you not familiar, Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God's love, for people with special needs ages 14 and older. Here are two promo videos showing our local NTS event from 2020 and the national Tim Tebow Foundation NTS welcome back video.
Night to Shine 2023 is BACK IN PERSON!
Night to Shine 2020 Memphis, TN
Currently UABC is looking for volunteers to fill a variety of roles from food preparation, to security and monitors and even "Buddies". A Buddy is someone who is assigned to one of our "honored guests." They are there to be by their side and help them to enjoy the night's festivities while the honored guest’s parents have an opportunity to relax. A buddy must be 18 years of age and for everyone's peace of mind, all volunteers must have a background check completed prior to our Night to Shine Event. These checks are being conducted through UABC's 3rd party verification vendor and is provided when you register.
