Thanks to our partners with Junior Achievement, we now have some amazing opportunities to serve our younger youth via Biz-Town! For those unfamiliar with it, please see the short description below:
"JA Inspire is more than a career fair: It brings together the business community and local schools and is designed to help launch middle school students into their future—high school, college, and careers beyond. The program is both classroom- and event-based and consists of three segments: (1) in-class sessions presented by the classroom teacher; (2) the hands-on JA Inspire expo; and (3) an in-class debrief. During the JA Inspire expo, students participate in hands-on activities, often using equipment or tools used on a job. The multi-hour experience is configurable to align with local industry and career opportunities."
Volunteers are encouraged to come often and work with grades 6 - 8 for this program. Volunteers will also earn 3.5 hours of service for each shift (8 AM - 11:30 AM / 11 AM - 2:30 PM) or 7 hours for the full day (8 AM - 3 PM), as well as other related service opportunities similar to this.
To earn credit within this platform and for your CBU User Profile, please respond to this service need. Then, complete the volunteer registration below. *Note: Due to working with underage youth, volunteers are also asked to complete a preliminary background check as well.
