Many refugee and immigrant teenagers are adjusting to a new country while balancing school, friendships, career decisions, and life transitions. As a Youth Mentor, you'll provide consistent encouragement, guidance, and support as they build confidence, set goals, and prepare for adulthood.
This is more than mentoring—it's investing in the next generation of leaders.
What You'll Do
- Build a meaningful relationship with one high school-aged refugee or immigrant youth (ages 15–18).
- Meet every other Wednesday during a staff-led mentoring group.
- Encourage your mentee as they work toward personal, educational, and career goals.
- Share life experiences, celebrate milestones, and help connect them with opportunities and resources.
- Foster confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging in their new community.

Bilingual volunteers are welcomed and appreciated but are not required.
Time Commitment
- Meet every other Wednesday evening for approximately six months.
- Participate in a staff-led group mentoring environment designed to support both mentors and mentees.

Before serving, all volunteers complete our onboarding process, which includes:
- Volunteer application
- Online orientation and training
- Background check
You'll receive everything you need to feel confident and prepared before meeting your mentee.
