Moving to a new country can be both exciting and overwhelming. Our Afghan Women's Group provides a place where women can connect, share experiences, learn together, and build meaningful relationships. As a Co-Facilitator, you'll help foster a safe, welcoming environment where every participant feels valued, heard, and supported.
This is a unique opportunity to learn from another culture while making a meaningful impact in the lives of refugee women.
What You'll Do
- Help facilitate weekly group gatherings alongside World Relief staff.
- Welcome participants and encourage relationship building.
- Assist with group discussions and activities.
- Support participants who may need additional encouragement or one-on-one assistance.
- Help maintain a calm, respectful, and culturally welcoming environment.
- Partner with the Community Ambassador and staff before and after each session to ensure participants are well supported.
We Provide
- Volunteer orientation and training.
- Guidance and ongoing support from World Relief staff.
- Resources and facilitation materials for each gathering.
- Everything you need to confidently serve with the group.
You're a Great Fit If You Are
- A woman who is at least 18 years old.
- Fluent in Dari or have experience working with Afghan communities.
- Respectful of different cultures and comfortable engaging in meaningful conversations.
- Compassionate, dependable, and committed to building relationships.
- Able to attend consistently throughout the program.
Family-Friendly Opportunity
Children are welcome to accompany volunteers if needed, making this a wonderful opportunity for mothers who want to serve while caring for their own children.
Time Commitment
- Weekly group gatherings throughout the program.
- Approximately 2–3 hours each session.
