Join us as we partner with the National Civil Rights Museum for King Day 2023!
Volunteers will be responsible for collecting donations from patrons. This will include both stationary volunteers at the main access points, as well as, mobile volunteers who will walk the museum line to collect donations. ***All Volunteers are required to attend a volunteer orientation on Saturday, January 14th from 11am-12pm via Zoom. (You will receive an invite via email)
This is an outside event that will happen rain, sleet or snow so, please dress according to the forecast. Mid-South Food Bank staff and volunteers will be stationed on the grounds and will NOT be allowed to enter the facility. The museum is scheduled to host more than 200 volunteers and well over 2,000 guest. Porta Potties and handwashing stations are located on the grounds.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) will be available.
If you're looking to reserve a shift for a group, it is your responsibility to relay all important information to your team.
Please arrive 20 to 30 minutes prior to your shift to find parking and receive instructions. Due to the magnitude of this event, parking can be scarce.
All volunteers must meet at the Mid-South Food Bank TRUCK stationed in the parking lot of the museum. Upon arrival, volunteers will sign in and receive a lanyard that MUST be worn the entire shift.
All volunteers must attend Volunteer orientation on Saturday, January 14th. Also this is an outside event that will operate no matter the weather. Please dress accordingly!
Failure to comply with any listed rules will result in volunteer termination.
