Volunteer: Volunteer Coaches and MentorsBevo Boys Fitness Academy teaches fundamental boxing skills as an intervention strategy to keep youth off the streets. We are seeking volunteers to assist with our Boxing Plus Mentoring Program. We need volunteers to provide coaching assistance, youth mentorship, and help youth with homework during after-school program sessions. Eligibility: Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older to volunteer with the Bevo Boys Fitness Academy. Application Volunteers must provide two references Background Check Liability Release Photography Release Form Confidentiality AgreementTraining: Volunteers must complete the Stewards of Children training before beginning to volunteer with Bevo Boys Fitness Academy. Orientation: Volunteers must complete one week of orientation with a coach to become familiar with participants and to acquire general knowledge necessary. Commitment: Volunteers are asked to commit to at least 40 service hours a year. The acronym “BEVO” represents our motto: Be Empowered Victorious Ones Our Mission: To keep at-risk youth off the streets. We utilized boxing as an intervention strategy through our Boxing Plus Mentoring program to empower youth. Board of Director Recruitment Bevo Boys Fitness Academy is currently recruiting for Board of Directors who are passionate advocates for youth empowerment. We are recruiting interested candidates that have a strong emphasis of experience in one or more of the varied areas of business skills, i.e., administrative, accounting, legal, marketing, and fundraising expertise, as well as those connected to the community. We currently have openings for the following volunteer board member roles: Board Secretary, Bookkeeper/Treasurer, Marketing/Public Relations/social media Director, and Advisory Board Member positions. Board Members are responsible for supporting the academy’s mission and providing strategic guidance regarding outreach initiatives, participating in fundraising efforts, and leveraging their expertise and networks to support our vision. Board meetings are held quarterly. Special meetings are only scheduled, as necessary. On average, annually there are no more than 5- 6 meetings a year.
