Needs From: Volunteer Memphis

Volunteer: Lichterman Nature Center Volunteer Plant Sale/ April10-11, 2026

If you are an outdoor person, a people person, or if you love plants this is the volunteer opportunity for you. Volunteers are needed Friday and Saturday, April 10-11, 2026 from 8:45am-1:00pm and/ or 12:30pm-5:00pm each day. Volunteers will assist with moving plants to the sale areas, helping load plants in car (small plants mostly), assist with purchase tickets, act as greeters, and help rehouse plants at the end of the day.

Volunteers must be 16 years or older. This is an outdoor event, so please dress for the weather. All volunteers will need to sign a City of Memphis Volunteer Waiver. If you are under 18 years old, and adult must also sign the waiver.

2 shifts available: please specify which shift you are volunteering for 

Volunteer shifts are 8:45am-1:00pm and 12:45pm-5:00pmPlease let us know which shift you are signing up for.

So please come out and help others beautify their yards, go green with native plants, maybe learn something new about plants, and have a great day outdoors at Lichterman Nature Center. If you are interested in learning how to care for a variety of animals and navigate day to day operations of an animal care in an  educational environment please consider volunteering at the Backyard Wildlife Center at Lichterman Nature Center.

Volunteers will learn and utilize skills, engage with the public, teach about animals, the native ecosystems, and more.  Volunteers will learn to feed, clean, and care for the BWC's collection of animals, including fish, reptiles, amphibians, mammals, and more.   You will also help MoSH serve the community and give back to the community.

Volunteers are needed Tuesdays- Sunday, 9am-1pm or 1pm-5pm. This is an on-going volunteer opportunity and we ask that you volunteer for 3 months or more. Volunteers must be 16 years and older. If you are over 18 years old, you must pass a back ground check.
