Volunteer: Spiritual Life Volunteer

Help nurture the spirituality of young people; this is intended for individuals, couples or groups. The Spiritual Life program provides children with an additional outlet for support during their treatment at Youth Villages. The program is sustained by individual and group volunteers from local churches and other faith groups who meet with the children regularly for a wide variety of spiritual and inspirational activities. You can decide how often and when you volunteer to match the needs of your schedule; all spiritual life volunteer activities occur on our Residential Campuses located at: 

Dogwood Residential Campus (2890 Bekemeyer Drive Arlington, TN 38002)

Bartlett Residential Campus (7410 Memphis Arlington Road Memphis, TN 38135) 

To become a Spiritual Life Volunteer, you must: 

Be at least 21yo or older Complete a volunteer application, liability waiver, confidentiality and vaccination attestation forms, background and reference check, one hour training, and a commitment of faith

Bring your expertise; this is intended for individualsWhether you are a novice or an expert, we are always looking for new and exciting skills for our children to learn. Volunteers with the following skillsets are encouraged to register: theater and drama; guitar or piano teachers; yoga, or dance instructors; sports athletes or coaches; trained chef; pottery or art instructors; computer science or basic coding knowledge. Based on your schedule and preferences, we will match you with the appropriate children for recurring bi-weekly or monthly volunteer events.

Volunteer: Therapeutic Arts and Recreation Volunteer

Join the team; this is intended for small or large groups. Participate in an array of recreation and art-based activities intended to teach teamwork, trust and social skills. Depending on the season, activities may include: kickball, drumming, dance, pottery, painting, yoga, basketball, flag football, cheer, canoeing and much more! This is perfect if you are looking for a monthly, quarterly or annual team building event. 

The event can be virtual or in-person. If it is in-person, it will be at the Dogwood Residential Campus (2890 Bekemeyer Drive, Arlington, TN 38002) or Bartlett Residential Campus (7410 Memphis Arlington Road, Memphis, TN 38135).

To become a Therapeutic Arts and Recreation Volunteer, you must: 

Be at least 21yo or older; if you are under 21yo we ask that you have a chaperone present at all times Complete a liability waiver, confidentiality and vaccination attestation forms, background check and short orientation

Volunteer: Runners Club

The Youth Villages Runner's Club engages youth in our residential treatment programs in weekly training runs and monthly 5K races. If you are looking for an opportunity to engage with children that have mental, emotional and behavioral needs and also get some exercise, this is the program for you! Our youth adore having someone to run (or walk) with, not only is it motivating, but it also teaches them health relationships and social skills. With weekly and monthly volunteer opportunities on weekdays, as well as the weekends, it's easy to fit Runner's Club into your schedule. 

Weekly Runners Club Schedule: 

Dogwood Campus (2890 Bekemeyer Drive, Arlington, TN 38002): Mondays from 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Bartlett Campus (7410 Memphis Arlington Road, Memphis, TN 38135): Tuesdays from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
