Who We Are
The Mission of Neighborhood Christian Centers, Inc., is to guide those in need toward stability and sustainability through compassionate, Christ-centered ministries and empowerment programs.
What We Do
NCC operates 8 Site Locations, located in Alco Properties, and 5 neighborhood-based locations. At each of our locations NCC offers our 3 Pillars of Ministry: Compassionate Ministries, Youth Empowered to Succeed, and Adult and Family Empowerment Programs.
Compassionate Ministries provides neighbors in need with emergency food, clothing, furniture, funeral assistance, transportation, and financial assistance. Programs under this division include:
- Clothes Closet
- Food Pantry
- Emergency Services
- Referral Services
- HomeBound Food Delivery
- Furniture Services
Youth Empowered to Succeed provides children, ages 5-18, living on Site. This program addresses a variety of topics that directly affect under-resourced youth, which includes the lack of after-school enrichment programs, high school dropout rates, low school attendance, financial literacy, and college/vocational preparation. Elementary students are served through site-based homework centers, literacy programs, bible study, and community service projects. After entering middle school, the program shifts to strategically focusing on drop-out prevention, grade to grade advancement, ACT workshops, college and career readiness, vocational training, mentoring, college tours, and financial literacy. Programs under this division include:
- Jr. Truthseekers (elementary Bible Study/after-school program)
- Truthseekers (middle and high school Bible Study/after-school program)
- Reading Programs
- Elementary, Middle School, and High School Summer Camps
- "The Crew" Highschool Opportunity Youth Jobs Training Program
Adult and Family Empowerment Programs provide opportunities for adults and their families, living on-site, to be empowered through Christ-centered programs, and learning and developing skills needed for both home and work life. Programs under this division include:
- Priority Families (Case Management)
- Women's Bible Study
- Love Builders Marriage Ministry
- HiSet Training
- Site-Base Clinic Services (in partnership with Cherokee Health Services)
