Artist Development

Indie Memphis' Artist Development program provides filmmaker support through the following opportunities: 

Shoot and Splice - This is a free filmmaker forum presented by Crosstown Arts and Indie Memphis, featuring a wide variety of technical, educational and unique topics of interest to the Memphis filmmaking community. 

IndieGrant - Since its inception in 2014, our IndieGrant program has helped 23 short film projects evolve from the page, into production, and onto the screen by providing Memphis filmmakers over $220K in monetary funds and in-kind filmmaking services. 

Youth Film

Indie Memphis' Youth program provides support and guidance to students between grades 7 to 12, through the following opportunities: 

Year-Round Workshops - Memphis Youth Filmmakers! Indie Memphis offers year-round workshops designed to teach and encourage young filmmakers about all aspects of the movie-making process from directing to editing, these workshops will help to guide and inspire you as you begin your journey to becoming the next great filmmaker.! 

CrewUp Mentorship - The CrewUp Youth Filmmaking Mentorship is your chance to make a short film with other young filmmakers as well as receive mentoring from a professional filmmaker for free; apply as an individual or as your own team of three. Each group receives $500 to assist in making their film. 

Youth Film Fest - This is an all-day event featuring filmmaking workshops and screenings of short films made by students from Memphis and around the world; all screenings and workshops are completely free of charge to students.
