THIS YEAR GALA WILL PAY TRIBUTE TO THE LATE JOHN GARY WILLIAMS:
John Gary Williams rose to fame as the lead voice & Songwriter of inimitable Stax group, The Mad Lads (“Don’t Have to Shop Around,” “I Want Someone”). Williams formed the group with fellow students from Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis during the early sixties. He was an actor, known for Darktown Strutters and a Member of The Invaders.

MTENZI AWARD'S SHORT BIO:
Mtenzi Awards was founded in 2009 & produced in 2013 by Stanley Campbell aka Cam Mtenzi.
MTenzi=(Swahili)=Artistry...It Awards Artistic and Creative Visual/Performing Artists that use their talents as a platform for Activism Services (To Build)!
In 2017 Mtenzi Award's was deemed as "THE CAMMY" by the Communities of Memphis.
RULES & REGULATIONS: Community Service & great artistry ethics have to be displayed, in order for any Artist to be considered or qualified as a Nominee! All submitted names will be evaluated before placing name on the Ballot for Votes. The Mtenzi Awards and the Legacy of MA' & 9 MustardSeeds' team has the right to reject any submitted names that do not represent Positive Community Building and the Mtenzi Awards Brand!
