Hey #Bucs,
John P. Freeman School is hosting their 4th Annual Read Around the Christmas Tree event, currently scheduled for Tuesday, December 3rd, 2024, from 8:45 am-10:30 am.
They are in need 170 volunteers to commit to purchasing books for our Kindergarten - 2nd Grade students to gift to them for the holiday season.
They are also reaching out to the various businesses, churches, schools, colleges, and universities in our community to come out and read to a student or class, for this would definitely assist them in showing our students the importance of reading!
It is hoped students will remember this day with so many people that look like them, and that they can identify with success, care, and excellence displayed by all volunteers.
All are welcomed to participate, but they would love to have many volunteer faces that reflect the cultures of the student population:
- Hispanic Students
- Black Students
- Campus Greek Lettered Organizations
- Student-Athletes
- Royal Court Members
Again, all are welcomed though! So if you'd like to sign up to read for Dec. 3rd, please respond within this platform to assure your hours are properly credited to your volunteer profile.
