Learning English opens doors to employment, education, friendships, and greater independence. As an English Conversation Partner, you'll help refugee and immigrant adults strengthen their English-speaking skills through friendly conversation in a welcoming and encouraging environment.
You don't need to be an English teacher. If you enjoy meeting new people and having conversations, you already have what it takes to make a meaningful difference.
What You'll Do
As an English Conversation Partner, you'll:
- Meet weekly with a adult English learners.
- Practice conversational English using everyday topics and guided activities.
- Encourage learners as they build confidence speaking, listening, and communicating.
- Build meaningful relationships while learning about different cultures and experiences.
- Meet virtually or in person, depending on the program and your availability.

You're a Great Fit If You Are

- Comfortable having conversations in English.
- Passionate about helping others grow in confidence.
No teaching, tutoring, or ESL experience is required.
Time Commitment
- Meet once each week for 30–60 minutes.
- Flexible scheduling based on your availability and the needs of the program.
