
Camp Hope is exclusively for children enrolled in residential programs at the Purdue Center of Hope. Not only will our kids be playing sports, creating music and art, they will be learning skills needed to prepare them for their next school year through daily offerings of interactive education, technology, and computer skills.
We are in need of volunteers to assist our staff with making this a summer to remember for our children! This is not a paid position. Please read the details carefully below.
Minimum age requirement: 20
Duties Include:
- Maintains proper ratio with TSA Staff and children (You will never be alone with a child or without a Staff member with you)
- Assists with field trips and outings
- Ensures all state and The Salvation Army rules and guidelines are followed
- Executes planned activities for participants and youth
Abilities Include:
- Ability to observe participants and ensure their safety
- Ability to multi-task in a highly demanding environment
- Ability to problem solve and maintain a positive attitude while doing so
- Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions
- Ability to abide by Salvation Army policies and procedures and have an acceptance of the philosophy and mission
Minimum 2 hour shift with shifts beginning at 8:30am and ending at 4:30pm
You MUST submit a background check before being allowed to volunteer at Camp Hope. Lauren Foster, Community Relations Coordinator, will reach out to you upon sign up to provide the form to you. (Court-ordered community service volunteers will not be approved for this opportunity.)
You must be trained in Safe From Harm prior to volunteering at Camp Hope. This is required and provided by The Salvation Army at no cost to you.
