Shelby County Department of Emergency Management:
Chief Inspector, Mark Kellerhall, of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Homeland Security, is conducting an active shooter training exercise on October 12th between 9am-2pm at Alton Elementary School.
Chief is looking for actors to play a multitude of rolls such as: students, parents, teachers, and patients during this event. The Sheriff’s Office along with the Memphis Police Department, Memphis Fire Department, numerous other law enforcement and public partners will be conducting the training exercise at the Alton Elementary School located at 2020 Alton Ave. in South Memphis. The day should start around 9:00am and conclude around 2:00pm.
When: October 12th, 9am-2pm
Where: Alton Elementary School - 2020 Alton Avenue in South Memphis
Why: To help prepare and mobilize professional response teams for potential active shooter scenarios.
