Greetings Bucs,
"Do you love helping young children learn and grow? We do too! Join us at one of our preschools and serve children age’s birth to 5 years old. You can choose to volunteer individually or with your group Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and/or 1:30pm to 4:30pm. Read a book to a classroom, play with building blocks, or just spend one-on-one time with a child that needs extra help with learning their letters, numbers, shapes and colors! We really need your help in making their day special! Volunteers can also help our teachers and admin teams by creating decorations and school bulletin boards each month for seasonal activities. In addition to these activities, we love when volunteers help us keep our schools in tip-top shape with playground cleanup, classroom room organizing and other various tasks. To get started, individual volunteers would complete a quick application and background check; and from there, they will be able to volunteer at any Porter-Leath preschool of their choice."
Get involved! NEA’s Read Across America Day is a nationwide reading celebration that takes place annually on March 2. Across the country, thousands of schools, libraries, and community centers participate by reading books to children and engaging in fun arts & crafts activities all to promote the love of reading! You can join in on the celebration too at Porter-Leath preschools across Shelby County!
If you would like to volunteer for this program with Porter Leath, please register within this platform to assure you receive credit for your service hours. After such, then contact Ms. Angela Meekins (ameekins@porterleath.org) or call (901)577-2500 (ext. 1119).
If you have any questions, contact Director, Justin Brooks (jbrook13@cbu.edu).
Thank you for your service #Bucs!
