This sale will feature milkweeds, ferns and an abundant selection of butterfly favorites such as blazing star, ironweed, penstemon, salvia, phlox, sunflowers, bergamot, blanketflower, and coneflowers; important butterfly larval host plants, herbs and colorful nectar plants will also be available.
If you are an outdoors person, a people person or if you love plants this is the volunteer opportunity for you. Volunteers will help with moving plants to the sale area, help customers load purchased plants into their cars, assist with purchase tickets, act as greeters and help place plants back in the greenhouse once the sale is over. Come and help others beautify their gardens, learn something new about plants and have fun at Lichterman Nature Center.
Note that most plants are small so not a lot of heavy lifting is required and snacks will be provided. All volunteers must sign a City of Memphis Volunteer Waiver form attached below. If you'd like to volunteer as a team, please email Janie Best Paraham at janie.paraham@memphistn.gov.
This event will take place rain or shine so please dress accordingly and bring water if you'd like.
