Greetings CBU and Friends,
As we head into yet another summer, it's important to remember the importance of Mental Health as individuals and as a community. With that said, take time to join us on May 20th, 2023 from 12 - 4 PM at Douglass Community Center for Community Health Partners' "Mental Health Awareness Fair"!
Several community partners including B.L.O.C. Squad, Memphis Black Healers Collective, Shelby County Health Department, Hackberry Tea Co., and more will be present to provide services, engage the community, and address several topic areas such as:
Anger Management
Anxiety
Family Trauma
Gun Violence
Lack of Belonging
Lack of Hope
Peer Pressure
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Suicide Prevention

Food, giveaways, free health screenings and more will also be provided throughout the event. Finally, for anyone who would like to volunteer for the following areas, please respond within this platform.
Set-up: assist with event setup (4 volunteers needed)
Check-in table: assist with registration and check-in (4 volunteers needed)
Food: assist with setting up food (4 volunteers needed)
Checkout – surveys: assist those leaving to complete survey (4 volunteers needed)
First aid table: assist with medical care, if needed (2 volunteers needed)
Senior citizens: assist as needed (2 volunteers needed)
