Learn how to prepare for the unexpected by taking the FREE Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training from the Shelby County Office of Preparedness. CERT students learn life-saving skills; gain a new confidence that they will know what to do before, during and after a disaster and be able to assist family, neighbors, and co-workers until the professional rescuers arrive on the scene.
CERT training is presented through lectures, videos and hands-on exercises to teach students what to do before, during and after a disaster.
Modules include:
- fire suppression
- disaster psychology
- medical triage and first aid
- hazardous materials
- disaster preparation
- terrorism
- light search and rescue
