JA BizTown combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. This popular learning experience allows elementary school students to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor. Students are able to connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world.
Volunteers will need to arrive by 8:15am for a short training. The students will arrive by 9:00am. The simulation will end by 2:00 pm. Volunteers will oversee and assist a small group of students at one of the JA BizTown businesses. We ask that volunteers dress comfortably as you will be standing and interacting with your students. Organization or company shirts are welcomed. Volunteers will receive lunch, however, if you have any dietary restrictions, you may prefer to provide your lunch.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, and are required to complete a background check before the day of the event. Following registration, a background screen link will be sent via email. If not completed, the volunteer will be unable to volunteer. If you are bilingual or multilingual, please note the languages spoken in the notes section.
