Volunteer Memphis, in partnership with Pink with a Purpose, will host its Annual Family Health and Wellness Festival on Friday, September 1 10:00am to 2:00pm at Orange Mound Community Center.
The event will feature more than 20 local vendors centered around physical, mental and financial wellness education and resources, health screenings, giveaways as well as a mobile food distribution courtesy of the Mid-South Food Bank.
We are in need of volunteers to help complete surveys inside, help distribute food, direct and gather information from individuals in their cars, distribute educational materials, and assist with other small tasks as needed. Cars will line up to receive food; individuals and families will then be asked to complete a form before they receive their food; volunteers will place the food in the cars; take the completed forms; and at the end of the food line will receive educational pamphlets on health and wellness. We will need volunteers for every step of this process. In exchange for your service, you will receive a complimentary t-shirt.
The event will predominantly be outdoors, and we ask that volunteer dress appropriately. The entire parking lot at Orange Mound Community Center will be blocked off for this event as such please park behind the Orange Mound Community Center at the Christ Community lot.
