Just City - Court Watchers (Volunteers Needed)

Hey #Bucs, 

Are you interested in helping to rectify the criminal justice system?  Well below is an opportunity to do just that through our community partner, Just City.

Court watching consists of observing court proceedings at the Shelby County Criminal Justice Complex to ensure that everyone gets a fair trial. 

We ask that you plan to watch court proceedings for a minimum of two and a half hours beginning at 9:00am. During your session we will provide you with a rubric to help guide your note taking and evaluation of a judge’s performance. At the end of your session you will submit your notes to us within a week of your court watching date.

Court watching is a crucial part of how we hold our elected officials accountable and work towards a smaller, fairer criminal justice system in Memphis.

To volunteer, please respond within this platform and attend for service on the date of your chosen shift.
