Greetings #Bucs,
On Sept. 13th, the Cooper Young Community Association will be hosting its annual Cooper Young 4-Miler, and are looking for volunteers to help out with such from 5 PM - 10 PM. See below for more context around the volunteer need and what you can expect:
The Cooper-Young 4-Miler is a classic Midtown tradition held in the streets of Cooper-Young the night before the Cooper-Young Festival. Runners will hit the streets of our historic, eclectic neighborhood for a one of a kind experience culminating in Trestlefest, a street party complete with Garibaldi's pizza, Memphis Made beer, and music by the Lucky 7 Brass Band. It's the perfect way to kick off CY Festival weekend.
Volunteers can serve in the following roles and event sites:
- Greeter/Floater
- Finish Line Water Station
- Food and Party Site Setup
- Medical Coordinator
- Nelson Avenue Water Station
- Peabody Elementary Water Station
- Beer Server (Age 21+ Only)
- Party Site Coordinator
- Breakdown Crew
Finally, click this link to learn the specific duties of the above roles and sites.
You are free to volunteer within this platform, as well as the their Volunteer Odyssey platform, but only by responding within this platform, will your hours be accredited to your profile within this Volunteer Memphis portal. With this said, I highly recommend registering within both, Volunteer Memphis first and then Volunteer Odyssey second.
For additional questions about the event, please contact Executive Director, Amanda Yarbro-Dill via email (info@cooperyoung.org) or phone (901.272.2922).
Thanks in advance, have a great time #CBU, and as always, #GoBucs!!!
